Special Event

Dear Griffyn friends,

We warmly invite you to a special Griffyn Ensemble performance on Sunday 15 March at 5pm at the ANU School of Music.

Over many years, I’ve been fortunate to share wonderful moments with audiences, creating unique performances with exceptional musicians that question the world around us. Many of you know that in 2021 I was diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer. Since then, we have been lucky to access almost every medical option available, and I have lived far longer than was originally predicted.

Bringing this special performance to you at this time, with musicians travelling to Canberra from around the country, is a great joy. I have handpicked Griffyn moments that transcend life and death, connect us to the stars, and celebrate how fortunate we are to share time with the people we love, on the land to which we are connected.

We are delighted to welcome harpist Meriel Owen from Hobart, soprano Susan Ellis from Brisbane, and Chris Stone and Holly Downes bringing fiddle and bass from Melbourne, joining Canberrans Kiri Sollis, Wyana O’Keeffe, Matt O’Keeffe, and myself.

This is a free event, and places are limited. Bookings are now open and essential. You can reserve your place here:

It would mean a great deal to see many of you there.

With warm wishes,
Michael Sollis
(and the rest of the Griffyns)
