There are four Griffyn Solo events at Belconnen Arts Centre during 2016, showcasing the individual talents of the six Griffyn musicians. We are delighted to be ensemble-in-residence at Belconnen Arts Centre:
Chris & Holly – The String Contingent
Belconnen Arts Centre, Sat April 9th, 7pm
Scotsman Graham McLeod (guitar) will join Griffyns Chris (violin) and Holly (double bass) as new-acoustic chamber-folk trio The String Contingent. This performance will feature all new compositions by the trio, to be recorded in 2016 at the Windsong Pavillion in Bermagui.
Kiri and Wyana – Silver and Sticks
Belconnen Arts Centre, Sat May 21st, 7pm
Griffyn flautist Kiri Sollis will be joined by the fabulous percussionist Wyana O’Keefe – a familiar face to audiences as one of Griffyn’s founding performers.
Susan, Kiri, Laura – Spheres
Belconnen Arts Centre, Sat July 2nd, 7pm
Music from the spheres, for voice, flute, and harp. Including works by American composer George Crumb, and Henryk Górecki’s angelic Good Night.
Laura – Mythos
Belconnen Arts Centre, Sat September 10th, 7pm
Solo music for the harp chosen to break some cliches about the instrument – so fairy dust is definitely not included!
