Griffyn harpist Laura Tanata presents a performance exploring mythology, soundscape and dance-drama. Experience the concept of ‘theatre of confluence’ in The Crown of Ariadne (for solo harp with percussion, a one performer show) by Canadian composer Raymond Murray Schafer and engage in the ancient Cretan story of Theseus and Ariadne.
The night will be closed with the stunning Fantaisie pour harp by French composer Alfred Desenclos, bringing together the traditional and the contemporary in 20th century harp writing.
This is a Griffyn Solos performance, kindly supported by Belconnen Arts Centre. There are four Griffyn Solo events at Belconnen Arts Centre during 2016, showcasing the individual talents of the six Griffyn musicians. Griffyn are delighted to be ensemble-in-residence at Belconnen Arts Centre.
